Two main reasons to my knowledge...
1) Alcohol is utilised in addition to glucose in your bloodstream. Therefore, as you drink, your body is using the alochol as an energy source, while parts such as your brain and liver that can only use glucose as energy continue using the glucose remaining in your blood. As a result, its onl after you stop drinking and your body has burnt off all the alco it realizes "Crap1 I'm outta glucose!" and you get RAVENOUSLY hungry
2) Alcohol dehydrates, and along with that you losesome minerals.. your body signals this need to you by making you hungry to try to replace what you've..urinated..out. This is minor in compariso to the first as far as i KNow

I'm not sure, but I know I get very thirsty--and beleive it's because alcohol, although a liquid, dehydrates thee body.I too like to eat afterwards but I seem to crave salty,or spicy foods. Let's hear it for JUNK FOODS.

It is because the alchol cleans out your stomache and it dissolves all your food
