Everyone thinks it's unethical to alter the human genome or permanent body structure. They say it's highly untested and cruel. The only reason it is untested is because they are afraid to try. Would a few lost lives really be that big of a price to pay for more efficient human beings?

A few lost lives may not be the only consequence of more efficient human beings. Think about what would happen to population growth, resources, the whole ecosystem in general. Everything needs a fault, to create a balance.

YES!

Bioethics is a huge concern, especially since out technology is getting more and more advanced. A VAST majority pf people (including doctors and scientists) agree that there MUST be a limit on what we do to the human species (and there are strict regulations on other species as well). There are FAR too many unknowns that we cannot control for everything. Who is to decide what is more "efficient?" Instead of experimenting on CHANGING humans, we need to focus on UNDERSTANDING them.

its unethical to the parents of the child who are anticipating a normal kid, and work hard for months even years to produce a child... but if you can find a woman that wants to raise a baby that has mutated genes, its still unethical!! the baby doesnt have a say! idk its tough, maybe it would go ok in the basement of a USA government building where noone even knows the people exist.
Awesome!
