hi. i need to know a bit about forensic sciences as a career option in india. if any one could give me some basic details like the different courses, institutes ,eligibilty and job prospects it would be very helpful. thakns

You have not mentioned your state preference still you can refer these 1.Allahabad Agriculture Institute-Deemed University, Allahabad, offers a two year M.Sc.Degree in Forensic Science. The course is recognized and supported by Directorate of Forensic Science, Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt.of India.

2. To take up a masters course in forensic science you need to be a graduate preferably with a first division in Physics, chemistry, zoology, botany, biochemistry, microbiology, B.pharm, BDS or applied science. Institutes : National Institute of criminology and Forensic science, New Delhi conducts training programs for students as well as in-service functionaries of the criminal justice system.



To qualify for the 2-year M.Sc. in Forensic Science offered by the department of forensic science, Dr B.R.Ambedkar University, Agra (UP,) Punjabi University, Patiala (Punjab), and University of Madras, Chennai. There is also a two-year M.Sc and MA in Forensic Science and Criminology offered by the Department of Criminology and Forensic Science, Dr.H.S.Gaur Vishwavidyalaya, Sagar (MP), and Karnataka University, Dharwar, open to graduates from science disciplines.

madras university offers degree and post graduate in forensic sciences

about career options you can get employment in government forensic labs and in case if you could complete doctorate level you can get employment in teaching also

It is the nice option if u r intrested in investigation and other stuff.

if u opt for u can get a job in the Govt.Forensic Labs or in a private DETECTIVES labs.
