Natural selection gives a being characteristics that better enhance survival. It isn't a question of ethics.Sometimes something that is PERCEIVED as evil can better enhance survival in an individual... For example:Infanticide committed by nonfathers in the animal kingdom can be perceived as evil by us.But for animals it allows the nonparental male to produce more offspring with the females of those babies thus enhancing his fitness.
