Make a very original one with pieces of hard, raw vegetables. Carrots, potatoes, celery, etc. You can stick them together using toothpicks.

Use floral wire(you can find it at most craft stores).

String 1/12" styrofoam balls(spray paint them different colors).

The wire peirces the balls easily.

Make sure you twist the wire FIRST.

Take 1" masking tape and use strips of it to make the connecting bands between the double helix.

To do this, fold the tape in half over the cut strips of floral wire, with the wire in dead center. Then paint them

Anchor the base of the dna by sticking the extra wire you should leave at the base into a brick of colored clay.

Anything lighter would cause it to fall over.

Go get Styrofoam balls and straws, and connect them into DNA. You can paint them different colors.

oh nice pipe cleaners work too.
