Foods high in protein do spoil. Moisture is not your friend. The best thing to presevere the protein is to smoke, or dry the food. Think beef jerkey. This is meat that has been smoked or dried to be well preserved. Beans are high in protein and when dry store for a long time as well.



Freezing allows sotrage for a few months but drying is a better means, but less appetizing.
